In this part of the land, cows are considered holy. They are not just an animal that provides milk and manure. Cows are as important as the mother in the family. Wherever there is a cow, an abundance of happiness flows. The heavens, too, shower their choicest blessings on the place.
How people loved and cared for cattle in ancient times?

Kodi Swamgial's first goshala
With the blessings of Kodi Thatha, our trust has established a goshala at Nedumaram village, Chengalpattu District. For the past three years, as per Kodi thatha's instructions, devotees have been visiting the goshala, performing gho-pooja, offering annadhanam, and involving in maintenance activities of the goshala.

Every Saturday, annaprasadham is prepared at the Tabovanam temple in Perungudi. Volunteers then take the prasadham and travel to the village to offer it to Kodi thatha at the goshala and to the villagers.

Goshala and Gomadha's Glory in our culture.
How significant is ghomatha in our lives?
Goshala - An integral part of our life
Goshala and Gau Seva are deeply rooted in Hindu mythology and the Upanishads. They reflect cows' spiritual, health, ecological, cultural, and ethical significance.
  • In Hindu mythology, the cow is considered the abode of 33 crore deities. It is seen as Kamadhenu, the divine bovine goddess, who grants all wishes and desires.
  • The Atharva Veda highlights the therapeutic benefits of cow products and their role in maintaining overall health and well-being.
  • As suggested in the Vedas, the communal care of cows fosters cooperation, unity, and mutual respect within communities.
Seemantham / Valaikaapu - Baby Shower at our Goshala

For the first time in our Kodi Gosala, under the orders of Kodi Thatha, a Seemantham was held for Gomatha Nandini. Like a bride, Nandini was adorned with ornaments and beautified by the loving members of our Kodi family.

With Kodi Thatha's blessings, the Seemantham was conducted excellently for Nandini, and this morning, on 19.07.2024, she gave birth to a healthy male calf. By the grace of Kodi Thatha, both mother and calf are well.
