Kodi Swamigal's divine instructions for this year Guru poojai
Every act carried out by our trust is directed by the divine presence of Kodi Swamigal. The What, When, Where and How of every function is given by Kodi Swamigal himself. Every year Guru Poojai's key components are said well in advance, and we strive to implement them.
Mulaipaari Procession
After taking 115 Mulaipaaris at Dhanushkodi, Kodi Swamigal instructed us to take 151 Mulaipaaris this time in Chennai for this year's Guru Poojai and the procession to begin from Palavakkam Beach, and it covered a distance of 6 km before reaching the temple venue at Perungudi. The Volunteers planned every aspect of covering this distance, which crossed many key intersections that would have an influx of heavy traffic. With unflinching support from Police personnel, the procession was a smooth proceedings.
Gho Poojai
In every celebration honoring Kodi Swamigal, the Gho Poojai holds a cherished place. This year’s Guru Poojai carried a unique significance, as Kodi Swamigal had given specific instructions regarding a particular ghomata and her calf. This divine pair had been offered as Gho-Dhaan, a sacred gift from a devoted follower, and for six months, they were cared for without names, waiting for this special occasion. As per Kodi Swamigal’s divine wish, the mother and calf would receive their names only during the Guru Poojai.

Sacred waters across India
The Ghata (Kalasam) which is the central part of the gurupoojai, will be filled with the materials to symbolise pancha bhutam ( Five elements of nature). One of the important element is water. The water filled in the kalasam is finally offered to Kodi Swamigal as special abhishekam before purnahudhi on Guru Poojai. This year, The water filled in the Ghata is the culmination of waters from the Ganges & Lake Mansarovar.
Colour-coded dress
For the 28th year of Guru Poojai, The colour theme was - Ocean Blue. The core team of 18 members were instructed to wear the ocean blue colour. The Men and Women matched the colour. The reason for Kodi Swamigal choosing a single colour for the members is to bring unison in the thinking process to ensure we move as a collective unit.
