Celebrating his divine transition at Puravipalayam

Our trust celebrates Oct 11th as an important event where Kodi Swamigal transitioned from Physical to ethereal. His presence was not just limited to physical form.

The sacred occasion takes place on Siddhi day, October 11th, marking the day Swamigal left his physical body. This year, however, had a unique twist. The back-to-back celebration between Chennai and Puravipalayam demanded careful coordination, as the Thithi of Swamigal’s samadhi fell on October 10th, just a day before the Puravipalayam event. The trust had to plan carefully the arrangement at Chennai and Puravipalayam with all the elements needed for the function to be thought and planned well in advance.

From the meticulous preparations to the seamless transition between the Chennai and Puravipalayam celebrations, this year’s Gurupoojai stood as a testament to the unwavering devotion and organizational spirit of the volunteers. It was not just an event but a living, breathing expression of faith, filled with gratitude for the blessings of Kodi Swamigal.

As the Chennai event concluded, there was no time to waste. With precision and commitment, the entire crew, filled with both energy and reverence, boarded the train that very evening. They knew the following day would bring even greater responsibility and devotion at Puravipalayam.

Meanwhile, at Puravipalayam, the first batch of volunteers had sacrificed attending the Chennai event, staying behind to ensure everything was in order. They were the silent hands and hearts behind the scenes, preparing for the arrival of hundreds of devotees. The annadhanam centre buzzed with activity, from setting up the temple to preparing the food that would serve as Annaprasadham for all.

Oct 11th, 2024, Puravipalayam: The Annaprasadham—vegetable biryani—was not just a meal. It was an offering, steeped in the memory of Kodi Swamigal’s life and the days when he would sit atop the terrace at Puravipalayam, sharing food with those in need. Each spoonful was a tribute to his compassion and love for humanity. As the devotees enjoyed their prasadham, they were reminded of the simplicity and profoundness of Swamigal’s teachings.overwhelming sense of divine grace.

As dawn broke on October 11th, the Puravipalayam centre came alive. Devotees who had travelled from Chennai arrived, and without delay, the morning abhishekam commenced. The rhythmic chants of prayers echoed through the hall, weaving an atmosphere of tranquillity and deep reverence. As the pooja unfolded, it was as though time stood still, with each devotee lost in their connection to Kodi Swamigal’s spiritual presence. The Volunteers from Chennai were completely soaked in the divine presence, and the energy filled their body making them forget that they were making a similar effort but on a large scale at Chennai 24 hours earlier.
